Project deadlines and budgets can easily blowout if you do not put in the time to plan out your project properly.
Spending more time in the planning phase can ensure the rest of the project runs smoothly. I find it crucial to include my clients in this phase and ask lots of questions.
1. Consulting & Planning.
Documentation, research, asking questions, analyzing content.
I employ a content first approach (including any campaign goals) of a site to plan and design around them rather than try to jam it into a design later. It’s important that your site or application works in black n white first before you can start designing.
2. User Experience Design.
User-flow diagrams, Sitemaps, Wireframes, problem solving, blocking out the design
3. User Interface Design.
The visual design of the website or app.
Using the wireframes as the basis of the layout and the content flow and using your brand’s color and imagery and content to bring it to life.
Build it. Test it. Perfect it
I would usually build this on a development server with a private URL. Once it is ready for review you will be sent the link so you can provide feedback prior to launching.
Once fully tested and approved, the site is then deployed to your server and you are ready to go.
5. Launch Project.
Your website is now live and ready for business.
